Chuck Jones, CFP® of Chuck Jones & Associates, Inc. (CJ&A), a Portland financial management firm, will present an update on the Portland Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC) “Small Business Bill of Rights” platform at the Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations, Inc.’s (APNBA) 2008 Business District Association Conference.

The SBAC’s Small Business Bill of Rights, of which Mr. Jones was the original sponsor and author, was unanimously adopted by the Portland City Council on November 29, 2007. The resolution to adopt the Bill of Rights signaled a positive change in how the small business community and the Portland City government work together to make sure small businesses have a voice in the decision making process. Since then the SBAC has made significant progress working with the City Government and other small business groups. Mr. Jones will provide a 20 minute update on the Bill of Rights and then hold a 10 minute Q&A.

The APNBA 2008 Conference will be held Thursday, June 12th at the Doubletree Hotel Lloyd Center from 7:30am until 12:30pm. Click on the links below for information and registration forms.

In addition to Mr. Jones for SBAC, there will be thirteen other speakers, seven from industry and six from business district associations, speaking on topics of great importance to all small business owners and their respective business district associations.
